The Ancient City Airgun Shooting Competition was a huge success. We had an awesome turn out, a sunny day and an amazing group of airgun enthusiasts gathered together for the day. The State of Florida was definitely best represented at the event but we also had several shooters from Virginia, Kentucky, The Carolinas and Georgia.
Shooters competed in 4 separate stages with 7 targets in each stage and all stages were timed to replicate a fast-hunting scenario. Shooters engaged from various shooting positions at each of the stages and a total of 10 rounds were allowed for each stage with a maximum score of 100 points per stage. We ended the match with some extra fun by shooting at exploding targets provided by FireBird with a drone capturing all the action overhead. The day also included a quick lunch and a goodie bag stuffed with items generously provided by Sylvan Arms, Firebird, McLean Sling, EnviroLog and PacthOPS.
After the match we all gathered for some drinks, a hog roast, a colorful fire thanks to EnviroLog and listened to a live brand, all located on the same property as the range. Some people even camped in their RVs on site. We truly were in our own tropical paradise! The day also included an amazing raffle with prizes provided by Utah Airguns, Grizzly Coolers, Airforce Airguns, Accu-Tac and DonnyFL. Then Talon Tunes swooped in like Santa Clause and added to the prizes on the raffle table. They also single handedly doubled the prize money with their gift certificates. Thanks guys, you’re amazing, and happy shopping to the winners!
It’s safe to say that everyone had a blast and we are already looking forward to our next event, and we ARE going to make it even bigger and even better, so spread the word and plan to take a long weekend.
